Journal of Integrative Plant Biology (JIPB) is very pleased to announce that the journal will be eliminating all page charges for authors from February 1, 2012, for a period of 2 years. This will allow authors to publish in JIPB in full color online and in black/white in print without any fee! For those authors who would like to publish color figures in print version, a small fee will still be applied. This will make your publication in JIPB a lot cheaper and easier. The ground-breaking decision was not made lightly, but we strongly believe that costs should not be a barrier to publish high quality scientific papers. This will make JIPB as very few exceptional free-to-publish plant science journals in the world.
JIPB, a Wiley-Blackwell journal, was first established in China in 1952 as Acta Botanica Sinica. It is a monthly peer-reviewed international journal that reports novel discoveries that answer fundamental questions in plant biology. Articles published are in 3 categories: invited reviews, new technologies and research articles. All research articles published in JIPB should fall into one of the 6 core topics: Cell & Developmental Biology; Metabolic Biology & Biochemistry; Molecular Evolution & Ecology; Sexual Reproduction; Signal Transduction & Stress Response; and Systems Biology & Molecular Physiology. JIPB is currently subscribed by 12, 400 libraries worldwide and indexed by 66 databases such as PubMed, Google Scholar, SCI, CA, BA and BIOSIS. The journal has an extensive Free Access initiative, which provides free online access to most articles published since 1952. In 2011, there are 233, 000 abstract downloads and 113, 000 full text downloads to papers published in JIPB. JIPB’s SCI impact factor has increased 4 times in the last 5 years.
